Yamaguchi Framebuilding School - Day 6
After the stem-building class on saturday (more on that in a later post), and sunday off, It’s back to work on the frame!
Today’s work can be summarized in a single photo. I fillet brazed the joints in the front triangle, and started filing them smooth. My fillet joints tend to be a bit too large, and require a lot of removal work. Fortunately, they are totally free of voids and inclusions - this saves a lot of time by avoiding rework.
In addition to the fillets, the seatpost clamping lug was brazed on. This required a minor straightening of the frame to ensure that the lug is mounted square. The seatstays will also be attached to this lug. Hopefully tomorrow will see the rear triangle of the frame welded up.
